I'll post updates of the project every few days. Maybe we could limit this tread to updates and related comments and questions?

Day 1 - Stipping the GT. Removed hood, nose, fenders, radiator, fan, strut tower brace and lower brace.

Take off parts listed in classified.

Worked on the project for about 5 hours today. Hot in there.

This is the thermometer in the garage, even with all the doors open.

Anyway, interior is pretty much empty.

As is the engine bay:

Few parts laying around:

Ran into the first major issue. I noticed the stock fuel lines run inbetween the body and the weld in subframe connectors. If I want to run the stock 03 fuel lines (and I do), I'm going to have to cut out the subframe or cut a section of the subframe connector, put the lines in and weld the section back in. This is the 92 GT (only one fuel line), but the 03 has two fuel lines and the brake lines in the same space.

I'm confused. Can you run the line through the gap without cutting it?

I can run the lines in the gap, but I dont think I can get the lines in the gap. The fuel and brake lines are about 10' long with many kinks and bends. There is just no way to get them in the little hole without removing/sectioning the subframe connector.

Just work at it, you will get it. I had the same issue on a car years ago. I had -8 braided lines on my 93 when it was carbed and when I went back to EFI I had to run the stock lines back through the body and the subframe connector.

I'm gonna try before I cut anything, but here is what has to go back in from the 03. If it was just the one thin line from the 92....

These are aftermarket, factory did not have subframe connectors. Well convertables did but they were bolt in.

I'm sure it's much different when it's attempted but from the pictures alone, it looks like some patience and trying different angles might be enough.

Tonight I got the 92 stripped down as far I think it will need to go.

With some twisting and bending I managed to get the tubes out in one peice, without cutting anything. Two fuel lines, a vent line and the rear brake line all went between the body and the subframe connector. Would have been easier if the garage wall was not 3' from the side of the car. Hopefully the Cobra lines come out as easily. Here what I managed to pull out:

Anyone need a complete stock fuel system (tank to fuel rail) for a good price?

Most body parts from the door back are fine. I'm just not quite to the stripping of the body parts yet. I did start stripping the Cobra's engine bay tonight in preparation of removing the engine - cooling system, PS, some electrical and vacuum lines.
